Hello! My name is Brie Scott (She/her) I started my career with a Bachelors of Social Work in 2009, and worked for 5 years in mental health and in a family shelter. I then obtained Masters in Clinical Social Work in 2015 and have practiced as a licensed therapist since. I am also an adults and children’s yoga teacher and have been on my own healing journey since starting to practice yoga and go to therapy in 2010.
I am a Hispanic, white, able-bodied, queer, women, who practices therapy from an anti-oppression frame work. I practice from a harm reduction perspective and believe that you are the expert on your life. I primarily utilize DBT, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.)
I am drawn to talk therapy, yoga and meditation because they are tools to help you quiet the mind, and get to know yourself. I believe that when you know yourself better, you are better able to accept yourself just as you are and connect more deeply with others, this is when real growth happens.
